Coming Home...
Today marks an extremely momentous occassion for the Marching Band at the University of Massachusetts: the school has officially announced that they will be dedicating $4.5 MILLION to the construction of a new building to house the band's equipment, practice rooms, uniform storage, meeting space, and anything else we can think of to put in it! This is incredible news and one of the most exciting things to happen to the band since it won the Sudler Trophy 10 years ago.
I wish I was back in Massachusetts so I could have been there in person for the announcement, but this just provides more motivation to make my way back to New England.

Here is a quote from a friend of mine's AIM away message:
The Way It Ought To BeI thought it was pretty funny.
The most unfair thing about life is the way it ends.
I mean, life is tough. It takes up a lot of your time.
And then you die. What's that? A bonus?
I think the life-cycle is all backwards.
You should die first and get it all over with.
Then you live in an old age home.
You get kicked out when you're too young.
You get a gold watch.
You go to work.
You work forty years until you're young enough to enjoy your retirement.
You do drugs, alcohol and party.
You get ready for high school.
You go to grade school and become a kid.
You play. You have no responsibilities.
You become a little baby & go back into the womb.
You spend your last nine months floating...Then, you finish off as an orgasm.
I like it.

In the world of college sports there are few things as thrilling as watching school mascots duke it out with each other. Sam the Minuteman from UMass has been named to the Capital One All-America Mascot Team and will compete against a bunch of other college mascots to be named the Capital One Mascot of the Year.
It's also fun to watch your college's mascot stick it to some obnoxious tennis player (link).
