Backwards Trike on I-91

Alison called me the other day to ask me if I had ever heard of a car called the T-Rex.  I actually hadn't heard of it before, so I checked online and found that I had seen it before, just not called that.  She took a picture of it as it zoomed by her on the highway, but I've included some cool video of this in action:

Best Buy to sell boxed version of Linux

Best Buy stores are set to start selling a boxed version of Canonical's μBuntu Linux for $20. This is pretty cool as many people are not aware that it's free to download online... the main benefit of this is the visibility that the OS will receive by being out there for customers to see who wouldn't know it existed otherwise. Having this in a retail chain, especially one as large as Best Buy, will show people that there are serious alternatives to Microsoft's Windows or Mac OS. In addition to getting an installation CD, users will get 60 days of free phone support for installation and setup.

I'm melting!

I can't believe how hot it is here again today. It was so nice having a thunderstorm roll through every afternoon/evening. It cooled things off nicely. It's back up to 100°F again right now and we still have about 2 hours of sunlight left before the sun sets for the day. My swamp cooler is broken so I'm stuck with the fans I've got. I might go to Walmart and just walk around for the A/C.

Another wind scorpion in my house

Found another wind scorpion in my house last night!  He was about as big as we've seen them around here.  I've read that they can grow up to 5" across, but we've never found one over 1.5".  They have beady little eyes, and ginormous shredding mouth-parts that most certainly would be painful if it bit you.  They are non-venomous though.
